Join the Athens Food Pantry - Circle of Joy for a monthly Thursday evening pop up food pantry featuring fresh local produce, staple items and milk and eggs. The pantry is held behind Main Street Market 4-7pm June19th, July 17th, August 21st, September 18th and October 23rd. Everyone welcome.

The Distinguished Athens Alumni Committee would like to congratulate Davis Zubke, Class of 2009; Steve Janke, Class of 1988; and Glen Luetschwager, Class of 1974, for being recognized this year at the annual ceremony. Many thanks to Mr. Adam Triebold and his students for great musical selections and Ms. Juli Gauerke-Peter for providing the opening and closing remarks. Nominations will open in February 2026 for next spring's recognition ceremony.
The Athens Board of Education seeks qualified and interested candidates from the community to fill a vacancy on the Athens School Board. The vacancy is for an unexpired term and will be through April 20, 2026.

The 8th grade class of Athens Middle School completed a language arts project of producing a story with realistic dialogue and writing for an elementary audience. They met with Mrs. Haines's 3rd graders at Athens Elementary to share this project. Both grades learned a lot about the writing process.
