There was wonderful support for the three inductees of the Athens Distinguished Alumni Ceremony on Sunday. Congratulations to Doug Riske, Class of 1969, Randy Decker, Class of 1973, and Tom Peter, Class of 1982. Many thanks are given to the Athens Booster Club for their support and to the AHS music department (Mr. Adam Triebold and Mr. Curtis Hanson) for the great talent that was shared by student performers. It was a great day to be an Athens Bluejay!

Athens High School National Honor Society (NHS) members assisted Athens Acres 4-H in hiding Easter Eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt event. Great community connection and volunteerism for our youth. Due to snow at Memorial Park and chilly temperatures, it was held at the Community Hall this year.

Athens Elementary had a great week celebrating Read Across America. The students played Seuss Bingo, had silly hair and socks, and listened to AHS students read some fun stories. The week finished with a glow party. This was a great week to celebrate and appreciate reading!
