Congratulations to Senior FFA member Isabella Zastrow for receiving a gold ranking on her proficiency award! She placed 9th in the state out of 48 applications, and was 2nd in Section 7 in the area of sheep production. This year there were 867 proficiency awards filled out in the state.
Agricultural Proficiency awards honor FFA members who, through their SAE project, have developed specialized skills they can apply to their future careers.
Congratulations Bella!

Congratulations to Katelynn Osborn for being selected to receive her American FFA Degree! The American FFA Degree is the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. This degree shows the FFA members dedication to their chapter, their community and demonstrates their effort towards their SAE project.
Only 1% of FFA members ever receive their American FFA Degree. Katelynn will be receiving her degree at the National FFA Convention in the fall.
Congratulations Katelynn!

Middle School 2nd Quarter Honor Roll

The Athens FFA is holding a food drive November 12th through the 21st. Students in grades 6-12 can participate. Please help us fill the Circle of Joy for the holiday season.

Ten FFA members joined over 73,000 FFA members from all 50 states, the U.S Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in Indianapolis for the 98th National FFA Convention.
During our travels we participated in various activities and tours:
🐐Hummel Livestock where they started their operation breeding and selling Savanah cats, and now breed Angus cattle and Boar goats as well as the Savanah cats.
🍫 Schakolad Chocolate Factory where they learned where chocolate comes from and how we get the final product. They also got to pour their very own FFA emblem chocolate lollipops.
🐐 Risin' Creek Dairy where they learned about dairy goats and how goat cheese is made.
🎃Indy Scream Park where they got to go through seven different haunted houses.
We also attended various sessions where we got to listen to multiple national officers give their retiring addresses and congratulate many individuals on their achievements.

FFA members had a fun time carving pumpkins! We even had a special guest, our Section 7 State FFA Officer.
Thank you to Levi and Liam Heier for donating the pumpkins 🎃

Hello Athens Community,
The Athens FFA and FFA Alumni are collecting canned goods and/or non perishable items to construct an agricultural themed canned food structure, which we will be submitting into the Can Do Challenge hosted by Luke Bryan.
All the canned food items will be donated to the Circle of Joy after the construction of our sculpture.
Please feel free to drop off any canned or non perishable donations off at the Athens FFA fair booth next week in the community hall!
Thank you !!!!!

This week FFA members headed to Madison to attend the Wisconsin State FFA Convention. This year the Athens FFA Chapter received the P.R.I.D.E Award, which is given to chapters who have increased their membership by 10 or more members for the year. We also watched Athens FFA President Isabella Zastrow receive her State FFA Degree.
